After the service last Sunday – much to the disdain of the students who wanted to go and eat Marg’s pizza and drink tea – everyone helped to take down the old marquee and erect our brand new one…
We had been meeting in a borrowed marquee inside St James church building every week since 13 September this year: we decided it was time to buy our own larger one, as we had outgrown the old one! We also moved the creche tent (which happens to be everyone’s favourite place in church as it houses a ball pit and mini slide) to the chancel, before starting to put up the new marquee, which is extendable once we have permission to remove the remaining pews from church.
Thanks to everyone who helped, and (don’t tell the treasurer) we hope to outgrow this tent soon as well, as God brings more and more people to St James to join in our worship and fellowship.
